While discussing the future of the Seahawks with Dr. G yesterday I posed the question to him whether he thought it was time for Seattle to “blow it up.” His response was that outside of replacing Matt Hasselbeck there really wasn’t a whole lot that needed to be blown up in the first place. I [...]

If you missed my Tampa Bay Wildcats post from earlier today you may have also missed what was actually way more interesting than anything in that actual piece. To recap – while watching the clips for the 2006 K-State/Texas game I noticed that there were three quarterbacks who played in that game – and led [...]

In honor of Quentin Tarantino’s new film Inglorious Bastards, I give you the following clip (via friend of SoD and 49er fan Gordon Shumway):

Word to the wise for Michael Crabtree – take your $20+ million dollars guaranteed and get into camp. Citing that he should be paid more than 7th overall pick (and budding disaster) Darrius Heyward-Bey, Crabtree’ s “advisor” has announced that Crabtree is prepared to sit out the 2009 NFL season and re-enter the draft in [...]

After all of Mike Leach’s delicate complaining about how Eric Mangini and the Browns organization scuttled the draft status of Michael Crabtree, it seems that the Mangenius has turned the table on the old Pirate of the Plains. The Browns have invited Graham Harrell to rookie mini-camp. Harrell went undrafted and does not have a [...]

Following this weekends draft one this is clear . . . Al Davis is bat shit crazy. He passed on the best two receivers in the draft because Darrius Heyward-Bey had 4.3 second 40 yard dash time at the combine. Most experts had Heyward-Bay listed as the 4th best receiver available, behind Crabtree and Maclin. Now reasonable [...]

As you may have heard, University of Arizona tackle Eben Britton was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the 39th pick in the NFL Draft. Not bad right? Britton was projected by some to go in the 1st round, while others had him going in Round 2, thus 39th seems to at least [...]

After a 2nd day of the NFL Draft in which the Cardinals filled needs (offensive line, Aaron Francisco replacement), I was most curious about one of the undrafted free agents they signed. The Cards inked Florida State CB/KR Michael Ray Garvin, who at the FSU pro-day was timed at 4.24 and 4.28. As 40 times [...]
